We are the Champions!

In the recent Melbourne Fine Food Awards, we are proud to say that we were awarded the Trophy for Champion Ice Cream - this time for our Super Fudge Brownie ice cream, made with famous Madhouse Bakehouse double chocolate brownies. We also achieved 7 gold and 5 silver medals.

This takes our score this year to 5 trophies, and 60 medals. This surely makes us the most awarded ice cream in our land!

Very Green Ice Cream

All Serendipity Products are now made using 100% Green Energy, from renewable energy sources. We have also exceeded the environmental targets we set for ourselves this year, by reducing our waste to landfill and increasing our recycling in the last calendar year to October.

Hands On Ice Cream Classes

Beginners classes assume no prior knowledge of ice cream other than an enthusiasm for eating it, and a willingness to learn. We start with milk, cream, eggs and sugar, then guide you through the process of making a Crème Anglaise. We discuss the use of various flavouring ingredients and what technical difficulties the home ice cream maker might encounter. Then we churn the ice cream and package it to take home – and you do get to taste some freshly made ice cream as well. You need not have an ice cream machine at home to learn how to make great ice cream.

Summer 2009 classes will be held on Saturday January 31st, and Saturday February 28th. Contact us for bookings or more info, either by phone on 02 9557 8986 or by email. Booking cancellations will attract a fee.

We will also do private classes and corporate bookings (minimum numbers apply).

Tours

Tours of our Marrickville factory are conducted by Swee-Eng Chia on Saturdays as part of her Marrickville Food Producers Tour. Contact her on cookingnonya@yahoo.com.au . Her next tour is in late February 2009.

Schools can contact us directly for small group tours between April and August.

Trading Hours

Our factory outlet is open to the public Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm, and on Saturdays 10am to 1pm (September to March).
